Our Techniques
Chiropractic adjustments are used to correct structural
imbalances. The structural changes may be due to tense muscles,
postural deformities, and improper nerve function. The adjustment is
a way to move a joint and change the tone of muscles around that
joint. The change in muscular tone has a feedback loop to the rest
of the nervous system. At South Jersey Chiropractic we employ several different chiropractic techniques to
facilitate these changes which include:
•
Chiropractic Adjustments
- Chiropractic adjustments are the most essential part of your
care. Spinal joints that aren't moving right can affect nearby
nerves. Chiropractic adjustments add motion to these restricted
joints, reducing nervous system disruption. Then, health can
improve. Sometimes a specific, highly-accurate thrust or a slow,
constant pressure is used. Several areas may be adjusted or just
one.
• Diversified Technique – This technique focuses on correcting
misalignments in the spine which may be causing pain and/or
spasm and can cause interference to the nerves, which pass
through the spine. Relieving the nerve interference can improve
a broad range of health problems by improving the nervous
system's ability to communicate, regulate, and coordinate
healing of the body. The doctors will most likely use their
hands to deliver a precise and careful thrust to correct the
misalignments.
• Thompson Technique - The Thompson Technique requires
the patient to lie on a special table, the length of your legs
will be compared. This protocol helps determine whether the
nerve interference is in your upper, middle or lower back. The
special table has individual cushions or "drop pieces" that
support each area of the spine until the thrust is given. Then,
each drop-piece gently releases, reducing the amount of energy
needed to help restore the motion and position of a specific
spinal segment.
•
activator - Activator technique is an instrument
which is used to deliver carefully directed energy using a low
force technique.
•
extremity adjustments - An adjustment is not
necessarily limited to the spine. Many extra-spinal conditions
are caused from problems in the spine. Extremity adjustments
are often necessary in regions such as the shoulder, elbow,
wrist, fingers, hip, knee, ankles and ribs.
