Chiropractic Adjustments

Chiropractic adjustments are the most essential part of your care.  Spinal joints that aren't moving right can affect nearby nerves.  Chiropractic adjustments add motion to these restricted joints, reducing nervous system disruption.  Then, health can improve.  Sometimes a specific, highly-accurate thrust or a slow, constant pressure is used.  Several areas may be adjusted or just one. 

Electro-Muscle Stimulation (EMS)

Electro-Muscle Stimulation is a special form of electrical current that is administered at the site of soft tissue injury, especially muscles, for the blocking of pain. Electro-Muscle Stimulation has been used as an effective form of pain relief. It is recommended in cases in which pain is accompanied by swelling and inflammation.

Small amounts of electrical current are induced into the tissues for the purpose of reducing swelling. This widely used technique safely strengthens muscles and helps reduce painful symptoms. Patients generally feel a slight tingling sensation at first. Since your body may become accustomed to the initial setting, the intensity may be raised during the course of your 10-20 minute treatment, for maximum healing effect.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound therapy speeds healing by reducing inflammation, relaxing muscle spasms and softening scar tissue from old injuries.

Carpal Tunnel Treatment

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome symptoms are being caused by the pressure on the nerves of the wrist or if there is a different cause of the problem.  It is VERY common for these types of symptoms to exist when there is a neck misalignment, history of auto or sports injury, or other spinal conditions.  The nerves of the neck control all the nerves of our arms and hands.  If the nerves of the neck are being compressed, wrist and hand pain is a common symptom.  A chiropractor is trained to determine whether your condition is a true carpal tunnel syndrome.  Treatment consists of physical therapy or chiropractic manipulation of the wrist to alleviate symptoms of true CTS.  In more serious cases, a surgical referral may be required.  If the cause of your symptoms is due to a neck related condition, a series of chiropractic adjustments may be recommended.  Whatever the cause, be assured we will do our best to lead you in the most appropriate direction to resolve this health issue.

Superficial Heat

Hot packs, warm moist towels, heating pads, water bottles and infrared lamps are often used to help raise the temperature of soft tissues directly below the surface of the skin. Heat applied to the surface of the skin enlarges blood vessels below the surface, relaxing tissues and can temporarily relieve painful symptoms.

Increasing circulation and relaxing muscles is helpful before or after chiropractic adjustments, exercises or other treatments. Using heat to calm tissues suffering from long term spasm or irritation is an easy way to increase flexibility, range of motion, and promote increased circulation to speed the healing process.

Percussion Therapy

Percussion massage therapy can help conditions such as arthritis, neck and back pain, sprains/strains, headaches and other stress related conditions. Our patients have experienced the many benefits of percussion massage therapy as it provides relief from pain, increases blood supply to the injured areas, decreases swelling, aids in muscular relaxation, decreases muscle adhesions, and promotes healing.

Paraffin Dip

Paraffin Dip is a drug free, fast relief for painful arthritis, bursitis and chronic joint inflammation.  Penetrating paraffin wax heat therapy relaxes sore, tired muscles, relieves stiffness and muscle spasms, and stimulates circulation.
